WHAT: Presentation by Alex de Wit(He/Him) Economic and Business Advisor, Economic Development Division of Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs

Community Economic Development (CED) is a foundation for rural prosperity and resiliency. Community Economic Development (CED) is the process of fostering an environment that results in the creation of wealth and well-being for the benefit of the community.

This presentation is for everyone involved in local economic development, such as municipal councillors, staff, economic development organizations, and volunteers involved economic development support.

Learn and take away practical tools to help your municipality develop and implement an effective economic development strategy. CED will help you to learn the basics about economic development in your community and how these concepts can be applied in your municipal environment.

Topics include:
o Why CED is important to your community
o The many facets of CED
o The value of planning for CED
o Collaborative roles of individuals & organizations

COST: Session is Free – lunch $10 and will be server immediately after session.
